Riverside Commons benefits from being close to some of the best natural parks in the Rockford Region, including Rock Cut State Park and Olson Swedish Heritage Park.
Visitors have access to some of the best hiking, boating, and camping opportunities in Northern Illinois. In addition to these amenities, the City of Loves Park is currently working with stakeholders to develop a plan for the restoration of Spring Creek, a currently drained waterway that lies at the heart of Riverside Commons. Spring Creek will serve as a central neighborhood greenway with restored natural areas and shared trails for pedestrians, cyclists, and others who just wish to enjoy the outdoors.
